Congratulations to Dave Checketts, who whined & bullied his way into keeping his below-average soccer franchise in Utah. And congratulations to the team for losing 0-2 against a couldn't-care-less Real Madrid team. How competitive you must feel you are. As Stephen Colbert would say, if you feel it enough, it must be true. Unless of course if you lack talent and direction, which Real does.Public funding of sports stadiums is foolish, and a new stadium won't automatically make Real profitable. Another prediction: In 10 years, Sandy city will still be paying for a beautiful soccer stadium with no soccer team to play there.
Speaking of Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes (they were in my last post as well) - my mom saw them at the game Saturday. Wowsers!
So to Dave Checketts, Real fans, Sandy City and Tom & Katie, take the advice of Beckham's wife and former Spice Girl Posh: Enjoy it while it lasts.
