Mac is back

No, I'm not talking about the McRib, which actually is back by the way. Nor am I talking about the fact that coach Ron McBride is coaching again in Utah. I'm talking about the fact that you would think McBride was coaching again AT Utah.

Just 2 years ago, the Urban-led Utes were on top of the world. The first team to crash the BCS party, they prepared to win, expected to win, played to win, and obviously, they won. This was a mentality that trickled from the top down. My how things have changed. Or perhaps I should say, stayed the same.

The Utes are back to their old ways, losing games they should win. It's like watching a train wreck. They're no longer a great team in an average conference; they're a bad team in a bad conference.

After less than 2 seasons at the helm, one thing has become apparent; Kyle Whittingham is not the answer. He's "Crowtonesque," he's a great coordinator but a lousy head coach. I just hope the U doesn't take 4 years to figure that out like BYU did.
