I am the reason the Utes are 10 - 0

Can I just say I love my part-time job?

For those who don't know, I run the LED board at the U football games. I get to decide when to put up appropriate graphics, including "Make Some Noise," "Defense," "Go Utes," and many more. Spanning 200 feet, my LED board has the power of more than 175 cheerleaders.

The power I hold in my right index finger can't be ignored. I click "Make Some Noise" and noise is made. I click "Defense," and our team in fact plays defense. I click "Go Utes," and yes that is exactly what the Utes do, they go.

As a fan, you cheer because you think it might, just might, push your team to victory. Your cheers might give the team the extra oomph they need that will make the difference. But I like to believe if it weren't for me, you would forget. That's right, you would forget to cheer entirely. Good thing I'm there to click on "Go Utes," "Go Utah," and "Here Come the Utes." How would you know the Utes were coming if I didn't tell you?

Man was I on my game tonight. I was what fellow board operators call "in the zone." I clicked on the "Best Buy Noise Meter" at exactly the right time. By clicking "Les Schwab First Down" at the precise moment, it inspired the team to go for yet another.

Yes, I and I alone (along with Brian Johnson, Freddie Brown, Paul Kruger, Louie Sakoda, the outstanding defense, and of course good coaching) am the reason the Utes are now 10 - 0. You're welcome for my awesomeness.

ps. Let not your heart be troubled - I will be back in the saddle for the big game on the 22nd with the team down South.

Did Kyle give you a game ball? You deserve one. I was thinking, "I wonder if I should yell something?", and then I would look at the screen and know. It was helpful.

It still is not as helpful as the 3rd quarter "trainer tips" on the jumbotron. I love those tips.

Give the guy that does the "Protect This House" thing a high five too. He protected the house.

Oh that is hilarious...but I can see your point...give yourself a pat on the back!

Wow, Ike...you really did a great job last night at keeping all the fans on their toes. Was that planned to make it seem like we might actually lose, but to come from behind in the last minute to win the game?

I told Curtis last night after the game that I knew would blog about it. hehe :)

I didn't know you did that? Way to go. And way to help them win! You did a fabulous job. You should get a raise after a win like that! Who else could have clicked the appropriate buttons at the right time and created the atmosphere you did?

I didn't know you did that either. My prediction is the Utes are cursed for denying my admission and making me live in Albuquerque (The hardest to spell city in the country.) If I may borrow from Joe Biden; "mark my words" they will lose. They will lose until I return to the state of my birth.

With that much power, could you please put in a couple of messages for Andy Ludwig, such as: hey dummy, don't get tricky on 3 and 1. Eventually we're going to need to score!
